Thanksgiving Sensory Tote and Thanksgiving Books

I found the cute little acorns and pumpkins in the dollar bins at Target.
The ice cube tray for sorting  and the fall colored gems are from the Dollar Store.
The pine cones I got a garage sale, but you can get those anywhere now.

I made the Thanksgiving pipe cleaner finger puppets last year.

I filled it with white beans, red beans and corn.

Of course, the Little People Thanksgiving set made an appearance this week!
Books we are reading this week.

Paper Plate Turkey Craft

 1) Cut the paper plate in half - now you are ready to make two turkeys :)
Once she was done painting she added the glue for the feathers and the turkeys face.
She had to pick the biggest googly eyes in the container, lol!

Pipe Cleaner Thanksgiving

I made these for M.  I will give them to her during our car ride on Thursday.  I am sure she will love playing with them and it will help pass the time!

I got inspiration from Turkey and Pilgrim and Indian

Ok, the pilgrim doesn't look that much like a pilgrim.  More like the Invisible Man.  But, she won't care, lol!

Turkey Crafts - Adorable

The owl craft was a hit.  So, I figured this one would be as well!  Plus, it is another way to keep a memory of their tiny hands.

supplies needed:
toilet paper rolls
construction paper
paint
googly eyes
glue

1) Painting the toilet paper rolls

   2) I traced the girls hands on the construction paper.
It wasn't easy keeping Snowflake's hand still, but I was determined.
*The google eyes will probably be removed and replaced with paper eyes.  Junebug will definitely want to play with these and I don't need the eyes falling off and Snowflake getting a hold of them.

Junebug made the following turkey craft at our MOPS meeting this morning.

Hand Turkeys = Lots of fun

We made the traditional hand turkey this morning.  M and her friend had a lot of fun with them.  More fun than I could have imagined!

Simple to make:
paper
crayons
fabric leaves (for wings)
glue or tape
*the older kids might like to add pom poms & feathers

Thanksgiving sensory box

My two year old LOVES sensory totes.  I love creating them for her.  This box includes the following:

Little People Thanksgiving set
uncooked pasta
uncooked red beans
plastic acrons
fabric leaves
pine cones

*Every sensory box should have a scoop and a cup so the child can dump and pour which I think is the most fun for them!
