Pirate Inspired Play Dough

It is "Talk Like a Pirate Day" so we made some pirate inspired play dough.  Scented with rum extract!

Ingredients:

• plain white flour – 1 cup
• salt – 1/2 cup
• cream of tartar – 2 tsp (you can substitute 2 tbsp of baking soda)
• water – 1 cup
• cooking oil – 1 tsp (if you use baking soda, add 1 tbsp of oil instead of 1 tsp)
• food coloring
• glitter (optional)
• rum extract (optional)

Directions:

*Mix until smooth

*I added red and blue food coloring.  I knew I couldn't make black.  

When I think of pirates, 

I also think of water and treasure!

 We used gold, silver, red and gold glitter to represent the "booty". 

*Stir until smooth and then until play dough bunches up to form a ball

*Take it out of the pan and allow the play dough to cool

 *Knead and store in air tight container
