Today we received a package of fall scented play dough from Love Bubs Scented Play Dough!

The girls were so excited to get the play dough, they couldn't wait to start playing with it!

Pumpkin Word Family Fun

How cute are these little pumpkins?  I found them in the teachers section at the Dollar Store.  It was the last packet or I would have bought a lot more!

Junebug is learning to read.  In addition to the 4-5 words she will learn each week, we are also studying one word family a week.  This week is "at".

Practice Writing Letters in Salt

Writing in Salt

Have your child practice writing their letters in salt.  They can use their finger or use a paint brush.

All you need is salt, a pencil box and index cards for the letters.
*You only need a thin layer of salt*
*If you don't have a pencil case, any type of container could work.
You can pencil cases for about  $1 in the office supply section of Target, Walmart, etc.

I made cards with the big and little letters, sight words and shapes!

Busy Bag - Writing Practice

Not all busy bags need to be created with craft supplies or printed and laminated.  Using things you all ready have around the house and keeping them in a bag to use on the go or when a child is looking for something new to do is perfect too!

I put our Kumon Write & Wipe flashcards in a pencil bag.  We have the big & little letters (sold separately) and the shapes.  What I love about the Kumon Write & Wipe flashcards is they are laminated (only on one side though) and they come with a dry-erase pen that includes an eraser.

I used to have them in the bag as is and the cards would be everywhere.  So, today I hole-punched them and put a ring on them so they are like a book.
Before I hole-punched them:

After!

The letters and shape cards (and pen) fit in a pencil bag that can be thrown into a purse or diaper bag.

Boggle Jr.

Boggle Jr.

I found a Boggle Jr. at our Once Upon A Child.

This is a great game and Junebug loves spelling the words.

It comes with 30 two-sided cards with three & four letter words.
Plus, eight letter cubes.

This is a fun way for them to practice spelling.
