Big and Little Letter Matching - Plus Counting Activity

Make this super fun big and little letter matching activity with items from the Dollar Store!

In the teachers section I found these paper cut outs.  

They also had a bee with honey and a mouse with cheese. cute!!

 I just used the scissors and put a slice down the middle.

Carefully, pulled them apart.

 I put the big letter on the frog and little letter on the lily pad.

 You need to buy three packets to complete the alphabet.  

That will give you 10 extra to make a set of numbers to match too!

DIY - Alphabet Builders

I have been wanting to making alphabet builders for a long time.  So glad I finally got around to it. Plus, it only took me about 20 minutes to make them!

Get the template from Confessions of a Homeschooler

I made a couple extra pieces of the long straight piece.  

I traced the template pieces on a large piece of foam.

 Then I added the magnets to the back of the pieces.  

DIY - Alphabet I-Spy Bottle

I wanted to make an Alphabet I-Spy bottle for a while.  I just didn't want to spend the extra money on the letter beads.  But, I found a package of letter beads at Michael's on clearance for $1.49. Jackpot!

Supplies Needed:
Plastic bottle rinsed and dried- I like gatorade bottles
rice - you can use white rice if you don't have time to color it.
alphabet beads

*You can hot glue gun the lid in place, if you are concerned about your little one opening it*

You can use anything with the alphabet.  Print something from online, write the letters or type them out.  I received this 8x10 alphabet in one of our Citrus Lane boxes.  I glued it to a piece of card stock and laminated it.

I love this Zoo themed lap book.
Junebug loves animals so this is a great way to incorporate animals and counting.

Nursery Rhyme Find the Letter worksheets from Education.com

I really loved using these worksheets for our review weeks.  The rhymes are really fun to read.  I think I am going to print them all out again and laminate them to use over and over again.  Yes, that is how much we loved them!

I forgot to post about our review week for letters P, Q, R, S & T.  We were also preparing for our vacation to Orlando that week.  So, it kind of got lost in the mix.  Here are a couple of pictures I have found (so far) from that week.  :)

It is review week.  We reviewed K, L, M, N & O.

We were sidelined a bit as Junebug got over the flu and an ear infection.  

The weather has also been gorgeous so we have been able to spend more time outside.  

We were able to work on some worksheets and have a scavenger hunt. 

Even Snowflake wanted to join in on the fun!
