Snake Number Threading

When  I Can Teach My Child  posted this idea I couldn't wait to make it.  

We had the plastic eggs to use and our current "Letter of the Week" is S.

So, it was a perfect counting activity to create for Junebug.

Supplies you will need:
plastic eggs (the more rounded side) I suggest the ones that already have holes.
sharp scissors
sharpie
ribbon
googly eyes
hot glue gun

 Use the eggs that already have the small holes in them.
It will be a lot easier to cut a big enough hole for the ribbon to slide through. 

After I got the hang of it I cut them pretty quickly.

The first few I cut caused some plastic to go flying, so be careful with the small pieces. 

 I tied the knot four times so it couldn't be pulled through the first egg.  

Leaving about two inches as the "tongue".

 I hot glued the knot to the inside of the egg.

Then I hot glued on the eyes.

 Use the sharpie to write on the numbers. 

Make as many numbered eggs as you would like.

I made 20, since Junebug is working on 11-20.

Once she thread the ribbon through a couple of eggs she really got the hang of it!

Searching for the next number. 

She was so excited when she finished.

It really is a great way to practice counting!

Junebug loves Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do You See?

So, I was so excited to find this printable book.

I printed the book on cardstock and hot glued Velcro to the pages.

I laminated the pieces that are added.  

However, I decided this morning I will also laminate the book as well.

*You can use this as a one time use booklet as well and have your child glue each piece to the page.* 

 She has Brown Bear memorized so she loves trying to read the pages.

I saw this and had to make it.  Great sensory fun!
Two ways to make it below.

Supplies needed:

Black peel & stick foam if you want the eyes & mouth on the outside of the bag
black card stock if you put the eyes & mouth on the inside of the bag.

orange foam (with the non-sticky back)

shaving cream

glitter (optional)

Quart size freezer bag 

*(you can use a sandwich bag, but I like the sturdiness of the quart size)

 Option A: Add the sticky felt pieces to the outside of the plastic bag.
Put the orange triangle on the inside.
Add glitter(optional) & shaving cream.
A little goes a long way for both.
You can always remove some of the shaving cream if you added to much.

Option B: 

The only thing you do different here is put all the pieces in the bag. 

I added circles with a sharpie where the eyes should go to help M.  But, that is optional.
Lastly, fold the top over and tape shut.

Paint the "snow"

It is finally starting to feel like winter here. 

So let the winter activities begin!

Too cold to go outside?  You can still paint "snow" inside.

 Supplies needed:

shaving cream

food coloring

tray

paint brush

paper

 Smooth the shaving cream out on the tray.

Add drops of food coloring.

 Let the painting begin!
