Nesting Eggs

Another fun way to reuse plastic eggs is to create "nesting eggs".
This idea was inspired by H is for Homeschooling.

I was excited to make these because Junebug LOVES opening the plastic eggs.

I used three different sized eggs.  All of which I already had on hand.
The "surprise" in the smallest eggs are items from the spring sensory tub.
I had six of the large eggs here so I turned them all into the nesting eggs.

Junebug loved taking the apart one by one and seeing what was hidden in the smallest egg.
Now to get her to put them back together is the next challenge :)

Snake Number Threading

When  I Can Teach My Child  posted this idea I couldn't wait to make it.

We had the plastic eggs to use and our current "Letter of the Week" is S.
So, it was a perfect counting activity to create for Junebug.

Supplies you will need:
plastic eggs (the more rounded side) I suggest the ones that already have holes.
sharp scissors
sharpie
ribbon
googly eyes
hot glue gun
Use the eggs that already have the small holes in them.
It will be a lot easier to cut a big enough hole for the ribbon to slide through.
After I got the hang of it I cut them pretty quickly.
The first few I cut caused some plastic to go flying, so be careful with the small pieces.

I tied the knot four times so it couldn't be pulled through the first egg.
Leaving about two inches as the "tongue".
I hot glued the knot to the inside of the egg.
Then I hot glued on the eyes.
Use the sharpie to write on the numbers.
Make as many numbered eggs as you would like.
I made 20, since Junebug is working on 11-20.
Once she thread the ribbon through a couple of eggs she really got the hang of it!

Searching for the next number.

She was so excited when she finished.
It really is a great way to practice counting!

DIY - Resurrection Eggs

Resurrection Eggs

*Click here for the free printable from Christian Preschool Printables *

This is a great tool to use when teaching little ones about Easter.
You can also buy Resurrection Eggs at Christian Stores.
I also saw a post saying you can get them at Walmart, but I haven't check there for them.
They are really easy to make.

The print-out also includes the list for each bible verse related to each picture!
I also included a few links below that have a brief description of the bible verse that you can print.
Cut out each picture and place them in each egg.
In the order listed on the card.

Easter Cards
This site also has great religious Easter themed cards.
You can use these to play "memory" or "go fish".
I printed them out and plan to go over each card for basic vocabulary and understanding.
