Contact Paper Art - Toddler/Preschool Art Project

Need an easy craft idea for your little ones?

Try taping a piece of contact paper (sticky side facing out) to the door.

 I picked up a roll of contact paper (shelf liner) from the Dollar Store.

I filled a tray with a variety of things we already had on hand.

Example: feathers, pom poms, pipe cleaners, beads, etc.

 I cut a piece of the contact paper and taped it to our sliding door.

 Then the girls got creative!

Dried Out Markers = Water Color Art

I am so behind on getting things posted to the blog.  I am trying to go through pictures and get posts organized.  That is the sign that summer has been super busy!  

During a very rainy day last week, Junebug had a lot of fun making 

water color art using dried out markers.

Use them on your next rainy day for a twist on water colors.

We had so many dried out markers that for some reason I couldn't just throw away. 

Now I keep all the dried out makers in a bag for the next time we need a fun and entertaining craft.

Just dip the marker in the water and let the fun begin.

This can get messy! 

Very cool to watch the colors swirl around.

Salad Spinner Art

I have been saving this activity for a rainy day.  Well, today was that day.  Snowflake went down for her afternoon nap and the spinning began!

Supplies needed:
salad spinner (I didn't want to use our everyday one, so I got one from Ikea for around $4)
tempura paint
cardstock or paper plates
scissors
glitter (optional)

1-Cut the paper to fit in the spinner

~I cut different shapes.  Hearts, flower type shapes, squares, etc. 

2-add the paint

3- Add glitter (optional)

4- spin, spin, spin

5- lay out to dry or hang them up to dry.

 I had a piece of poster board collecting dust so we put all the spin art on there to dry. 

We made a lot. 

I plan to use these as cards for Birthday's, etc. from the girls.
