Paint Chip Craft - Flowers

There are so many cute craft ideas out there using paint chips.  You know the color swatch in the paint department at your local home improvement store?  Heck, I have even seen them at Walmart!
We had to run into Home Depot the other day and they have paint chips that aren't your typical square or rectangle shape.  They are a fun shape that resembles a flower petal.

So as we were leaving I grabbed a variety of colors and some of the wooden sticks (paint stirs)

 Simple list of supples:
green paint or green marker for the "stem"
glue
paint chips
paint stirs
They first painted the "stems" green

Just a little glue was needed to keep the "petals" in place. The paint helped them stick as well.
 How fun are these flowers?

Contact Paper Art - Toddler/Preschool Art Project

Need an easy craft idea for your little ones?

Try taping a piece of contact paper (sticky side facing out) to the door.

I picked up a roll of contact paper (shelf liner) from the Dollar Store.
I filled a tray with a variety of things we already had on hand.
Example: feathers, pom poms, pipe cleaners, beads, etc.
I cut a piece of the contact paper and taped it to our sliding door.
Sticky side facing out :)
 Then the girls got creative!
Simple, right?

Cardboard Box Car

We went to Costco Saturday morning and came with this really awesome, sturdy box.
I wish I could take credit for coming up with the idea first.  But, it was actually Snowflake.
While my husband was bringing in the groceries.
Snowflake emptied the groceries out of this box and sat in it.

Then it hit me how perfect it would be for a pretend car!
 This was a two-day project.

Day #1
First day we paint, painted and painted.

When the box was covered with paint.  We stamped
The girls and the floor were a mess when we were done.
But, totally worth it!

I put it on the deck to dry.

Day #2

I think my hubby was feeling left out so he volunteered to
put the "wheels. steering wheel and lights" on.
We used a fastener for the wheel.  I didn't think it was going to stay on, but now 5 days later the steering wheel is still going strong!
The wheels were hot glued on.
Cupcake liners for the head lights.  Cute right?  Hubby's idea :)

They are having a blast taking trips to the "beach".

Make a guitar!

Supplies needed:
empty kleenex box
tape
glue
rubberbands
a piece of cardboard or a ruler

I trimmed about an inch or so off of the inside of the box.
The two piece fit into eachother.  I had to tape one side shut.
Put the rubberbands around it and the glue the cardboard to the back.
I ended up using a hot glue gun to make sure it stayed.

It sounds great too!

DIY - Princess finger puppets

I was so happy when I stumbled upon the template for these finger puppets via pintrest.

I made a set for Junebug and decided to make a set for a couple of her friends.  They can be a bit tedious if you were making multiple sets of them.  I did find that the template is a bit flawed with its colors on a couple. But, they are pretty simple to make.  Not to mention super cute!

I added a couple extra things to them that aren't on the template.

You just need felt in the proper princess colors, hot glue gun, scissors & the template.

DIY- Snow globe using baby oil not water!

I couldn't wait to make this snow globe with Mary.  We used baby oil instead of water.  The glitter lingers longer in the baby oil.

I would start out by using half the bottle of oil.  I used an average sized mason jar.
Don't forget to leave space for your figurine's and to let the oil move around.

we used a lot of glitter :)
I cut the very top of the plastic cup off and glued it to the plastic container.
A plastic lid to vitamins, etc. would work.
Then I hot glued the bear and tree to the plastic. (Let it dry completely)
I trimmed some of the plastic around the plastic container so it fit.
I then used the hot glue gun around the rim.
Put the mason jar lid on and you have a snow globe!
It is magical!

Egg Carton Caterpillars

Letter of the Week - Cc

Crafting Caterpillars

Supplies needed:
egg carton
paint
pipe cleaner
pom poms (optional)
googly eyes
The pom poms did not stay on with regular glue or tacky glue.  So, I took them off so A wouldn't get a hold of them by accident.
