Felt Board - Dress - Up Bear

My almost 15 month old has been recognizing where you put socks, shoes, hats, etc.  

So, I thought it would be fun to make her a felt board activity where she can play dress up and place the clothes in their appropriate places. With the help of her big sister, of course! 

Mama Smiles has templates available that you can use that makes creating this activity that much easier!

I love when I start to create something and then find a template for guidance.

 She just wanted to pile up all of the pieces.

But, it was fun going over each piece of clothing with her. 

Tiny Tot School - Reading

Snowflake has shown a big interest lately in reading and she loves to point.  

So, we are having more "group" reading time which has been a lot of fun for all of us. 

During this group reading time we use the books she is most interested in at the time.

She currently loves the 10 Little Ladybugs or 5 Little Ladybugs books.

It is colorful and she gets to point as we count. 

The Very Hungry Bunny Part 2

Feed The Very Hungry Bunny

This activity goes along with The Very Hungry Bunny printable from Playing With Words.

the letter carrots and number lettuce you can use to feed the bunny!

I had my 14 month old use the carrots to feed the bunny as we read The Very Hungry Bunny book.

I cut the top off of the milk carton. 

I covered it with two sheets of plain paper.  I needed four total to cover all the sides.  

With only one sheet you could see through it.  That kind of bugged me.  

 I made a rough cut of the mouth.  It gets covered by the bunny head so it doesn't have to be perfect.

I cut out the bunny template and added the pink to the ears and made a nose.
Then I hot glued on the googly eyes.  Simple!

I laminated the carrots for durability.

 I wasn't sure how interested she would be in this activity.
But, she loved it.  She fed the bunny the carrots then dumped them out and fed him again!

Baby Play Tuesday - Plastic Egg Fun

I am still listing this under "Baby Play" even though my baby isn't so much a baby anymore, sniff sniff!

Another pintrest inspired idea!

All you need is a shoe box & plastic eggs.

I simply cut holes into a box.  A shoe box would work great.  

Any box with a lid so you or your little one can easily remove the eggs.  

 Our Citrus Lane box worked perfectly.  I always save our boxes from them!

Where did they go? 

 I cut a hole in the side too and Junebug dumped them out each time.

Couch Climbing

My girls LOVE when I take the cushions off of the couch to vacuum.

So, it has become one their favorite activities.

They love to bounce and crawl over the cushions on the floor.

It helps burn some energy when we can't get outside.

Baby Play Tuesday - Fort Fun!

I covered our kitchen table with a blanket.

 A loved playing under the table.

 I put our small indoor slide coming out the one side.

Quick and easy to make.  

Supplies needed:

vanilla pudding

food coloring

( I found this food coloring at the Dollar Store, score!)

Pretty and not to mention tasty! :) 

Baby Play - Jello Jigglers

Baby Play - Treasure Box

I filled a picnic basket with all kinds of baby friendly items from around the house. 

Any basket would work.  I actually taped the basket open so she wouldn't have to keep holding it open

Snowflake loved exploring all of the items.  Of course, big sister enjoyed helping too!

Baby Play - Sensory crawl through box!

Turn that box from a Christmas present into a sensory crawl through tunnel! 

I cut off the top flap of the box on each side (left it on the bottom for support)

After the holidays I will let Junebug paint the box for fun.

 I cut small holes randomly on the top of the box.

I pulled knotted tulle and "baby legs" through.

*I taped the tulle down with duck tape.

 I hot glued wool fabric (from an old sweater) and make-up sponges to one side.

 To the other side I hot glued a bath grip and taped bubble wrap to the box.
